Game Breeding with a purpose

Our focus has always been on effective game breeding practices and gaining the knowledge and skill to advance not only the success of the individual game farmer, but also to add as much value as possible to the Wildlife and Game industry as a whole.

Having worked in the wildlife industry since 1997, the owner of KZN Game Breeders™ started selective genetic breeding with Nyala and Impala in 2014. Since then the project has expanded, not only in size but in species diversity and other specialised wildlife services as well. Using strict selection criteria to “rank” each and every individual animal, KZN Game Breeders™ now have some of the Top-quality specimens within the province. The original source of breeding stock from different Big parks in KZN, has provided a wide range of natural genetic diversity to the project. We have adopted the Quality over quantity approach and any specimen not meeting the high standards of selection are labelled and sold accordingly. All animals have a detailed genetic and pedigree record which is issued to the buyer of that animal.

By using this scientific breeding process, KZN Game Breeders™ have “Naturally Superior Genetics™”.

These Monster genetics originate from deep within the Oribi Gorge in KwaZulu-Natal. EnKulu and his ancestors have been exposed to optimal feeding conditions for centuries. They have unlimited body growth and fertility potential as a result. We crossed these great genetics with our local Northern Natal specimens and developed a genetically superior Nyala that is resistant to our Cold weather and Heartwater conditions.

Having originated in the Pongola area, this Nyala Bull, has from a very young age displayed highly desirable traits within the selection criteria. His exceptional horn length for his age has earned him the name “Everest”. When crossed with top quality females carrying the curve genetics, the ultimate Nyala specimen is produced.
